The Home and School Association (HSA) values the critical role parents play in the development and education of their children. It promotes open communication, goodwill, and cooperation among parents, faculty, and administration. Under the guidance of an Executive Board, the HSA directs and coordinates parental support through activities, social functions, and fundraisers, welcomes and integrates new parents into the De Chantal community, and provides forums for parent education. Below are the events and fundraisers the HSA puts on throughout the school year.
Biannual Big Events
The HSA has two big fundraisers that alternate yearly the De Chantal DASH held in April and the De Chantal Gala & Auction held in March. For the 2022-2023 school year the De Chantal DASH will be our big fundraiser. Stay tuned for more details!
Family Fun Night
Family Fun Night is the event that kicks off the school year for the De Chantal community. The HSA hosts a night of fun with moon bounces, face painting, a DJ and BBQ for all in early September. It is truly a great night to see old friends and meet new ones!
Cornhole
The De Chantal Cornhole Social is an HSA adult only sponsored event that brings together members of the St. Jane de Chantal community for a fun evening of socializing with old and new friends, enjoying light fare and refreshments, and competing in one of the great leisure sports. It is held in the lower parking lot behind the Church creating a festive atmosphere, like a tailgate party. The event runs from 7pm until a duo wins the championship.
Halloween Trunk or Treat
The Friday night before Halloween is always a festive time for the De Chantal community to gather in costume and have good old Halloween fun. Join us this year for our 2nd annual Trunk or Treat! Students can also enjoy carnival games, face painting, a DJ and a Haunted House put on by the 8th graders.
Breakfast with Santa
Join us and Santa for breakfast treats inside the De Chantal gym, transformed into a magical winter wonderland. Enjoy holiday themed music, Christmas crafts, and a chance to take a picture with jolly St. Nick! This new HSA fundraiser promises a festive beginning to your Christmas season. And brings old favorites like tree raffles and hostess baskets back, better than ever! Please save the date: Saturday, December 10th for this family friendly event.
Secret Santa
The Secret Santa Workshop is an annual event that occurs in early December. Our volunteer parents turn into elves and transform the gym into a shopping wonderland. Our children can do some "secret" shopping for their parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, teachers, or pets-- really, anyone that they want to give a present to for Christmas. All items are priced between $1 - $5. Most gifts will be wrapped and ready to go under the Christmas Tree.
Mother Son Bowling
Every other year Mothers and Sons have an event to show off their bowling skills and enjoy a night with friends!
Father Daughter Dance
Every other year De Chantal hosts a special night for all fathers and their daughters to dance the night away.
Grandparents’ Day
Traditionally the Monday after Mother's Day is a special day for Grandparents to visit our school. We first attend mass and grandparents are seated with their grandchildren. After mass, the HSA hosts a reception with coffee, fruit, and pastry. Then, older kids escort the grandparents to their grandchildren's classes.
