Principal's Notes 12/2/15

I hope your Thanksgiving was filled with family and memories. The children came back bubbling with stories about travel and turkeys. This is a happy time for everyone.

Our school is like a school for the performing arts. The choir is preparing for their recital (December 10), Lessons and Carols (December 13 at 7:30), the Masses and other sing-a-long, Christmas Eve Mass and their Rome trip. The band has a Christmas concert on December 11. The 6th grade is gearing up for their play. The school is filled with music. The Pageant is coming along beautifully. It is like a Christmas miracle every day. The children from PreK through 4 practices in the church without a sound. They sing like angels. It is a miracle. The Christmas Pageant is December 16 at 7 PM in the church.

The 8th grade was sequestered all morning as they took the HSPT, which is the entrance exam for High School. The entire school tip-toed around to keep the school quiet. They will do well and they will be happy to have this behind them. This afternoon they delivered bags to nearby neighborhoods for the Greg Gannon Food Drive.

Christmas Giving Projects:  Shoeboxes are due next week. Also the $3 for the helpers is due. Each child is asked to bring three dollar bills (no change or checks) so that we can thank the many helpers who keep our school clean, safe and Catholic. We include the cleaning men, crossing guards and priests.

Enjoy these festive days. The shopping will get done. The tree will appear. Smile and listen to the music.

Secret Santa is on Monday. The children may wear their PJs to school to pretend it is like Christmas morning.
