Volunteer Compliance Process

All adult volunteers (persons 18 years old and older) must successfully complete the Child Protection Policy compliance process.

To do this the adult volunteer must:

  1. Create an account on VIRTUS.org
  2. Register for and attend a Child Protection Training Workshop
  3. Submit a Volunteer Application
  4. Be fingerprinted at an Archdiocesan site. The volunteer must bring a Criminal Background Investigation Authorization form available from a compliance coordinator along with $33.50 fee and a PHOTO ID to the fingerprinting site.

The following four items must be submitted to the Parish or School Compliance Coordinator:

  1. An original Volunteer Application submitted prior to requesting a fingerprinting appointment
  2. Signed receipt indicating the completion of fingerprinting
  3. Copy of Attendance Certificate from the Child Protection Training Workshop
  4. The signed Acknowledgement Page from the Child Protection Policy
