The 3rd quarter is now underway and we have covered a lot of historical information so far this year.
We have covered the War with Mexico, manifest destiny, causes leading up to the Civil War, The Civil War major battles and generals, the assasination of Abraham Lincoln, the conspiracy behind the assasination and, most recently, the reconstruction of the south.
The work that is being turned in is excellent. I am very happy with the improvement in their writing. Recently I gave a very vague essay question and I am impressed with the detail of the work. It is clearer and more precise than ever.
The industrial revolution is next on our plate with a "company" project to follow. Each student will be assigned a company to research and build a power point display and present it to the class.
A permission slip has been sent home for our trip to the Kennedy center on Feb. 9, and our confirmation retreat is Feb. 13.
