We will continue the unit on Pronouns this week. Journals are being continued so please keep up-to-date with entries (full page for the 4th quarter).
We will be reviewing all pronouns we have learned in a pronoun packet this week as well as discussing pronouns used with linking verbs, in compound subjects, and interrogative pronouns.

Journals - students have been given a handout with topics for the 4th quarter. They will be given time in class to write at least a page on the given topic. If they don't complete the entry, are absent or in band, they will need to make up on their own time.
Diagamming Sentences:
We have begun diagramming sentences. We have discussed simple sentences, compound subject/predicates, and sentences containing direct objects. If your child has missed a class, I would suggest getting notes from a friend or scheduling a time to come and see me as there is only a minimal section on diagramming in the back of the book. Encourage using a ruler when doing these exercises, please.
Our textbook is Houghton Mifflin English.
